Most of the villages in the Luberon National Park are medieval (they were built in the beginning of the XIIth century). Inside the medieval ramparts, sloping alleys rise up to the centre of these small charming perched villages, where rises majestically the castle. Grouped on the mountain, as Maubec, Ménerbes, Gordes, Lacoste, Bonnieux, Saignon, Caseneuve, Auribeau, Castellet, or on the hills as Lourmarin, Cucuron, Tour d'Aigues, Ansouis, Pertuis, Cadenet, Lauris, Mérindol, they offer to the traveler the flavor of past and the charm of the Luberon Mountain and of the Durance River.
